Many private individuals or smaller commercial enterprises would like to produce solar power themselves. In many cases, however, they lack a roof of their own, the specialist knowledge or the information they need to successfully implement solar projects.
The Solar Genossenschaft Rheintal bundles the interests of its members and builds new solar power plants. The contributions of the cooperative members are used to finance the construction and maintenance of the PV systems. The proceeds from the sale of the ecological added value to local energy suppliers can be used to pay interest on the cooperative capital.
